Disney Cruise Line is making it easier for more guests to join the fun at sea and on its islands. New Disney Cruise Line accessibility tools are now available across the fleet: haptic vests for guests who are deaf or hard of hearing and braille and tactile guidebooks for guests with visual disabilities, with the guidebooks also offered at Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point in The Bahamas.

The vests turn music into vibrations at the silent disco, while the guidebooks add tactile maps and venue details. Here’s how each new tool works, the other accessibility options already on board and at the islands, and how to request them before you sail.

Haptic Vests at Disney Cruise Line Silent Disco Parties

The haptic vests turn music and sound effects into vibrations, so guests who are deaf or hard of hearing can feel every beat at silent disco parties on all Disney Cruise Line ships. How cool is that?

Braille and Tactile Guidebooks on Ships and Islands

The braille and tactile guidebooks include tactile maps and venue information, so guests can find their way around the ships and islands more independently. They’re available fleetwide on request, including at Guest Services, and versions cover Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay.

Other Accessibility Options on Disney Cruise Line

  • On board: accessible staterooms and wheelchair-accessible public spaces, captioning on Funnel Vision, assistive listening systems, an accessible transfer option at AquaMouse on Wish-class ships and relief areas for service dogs.
  • At the islands: sand wheelchairs, beach mobility mats, accessible transportation and select excursions for guests with limited mobility.

How to Request Accessibility Services on Disney Cruise Line

Guests can submit a Special Services request form before sailing or contact Disney Cruise Line’s Special Services team, so the crew knows what’s needed ahead of time. Full details are on Disney Experiences.
