New Indoor Coaster Coming to Dark Universe at Universal Epic Universe: What to Know
Universal Epic Universe is already preparing its next big addition, just over a year after the theme park officially opened. On November 5, 2026, Universal Orlando Resort announced an all-new indoor thrill coaster for Dark Universe, one of the park’s five worlds, and construction on the Epic Universe indoor coaster is already underway.
The ride will tell a brand-new story inspired by the Universal Monsters franchise, and it’s one of several new experiences heading to the resort. Here’s what’s known so far about the coaster, plus the other openings planned across Universal Orlando Resort through 2027.
What to Know About the Epic Universe Indoor Coaster in Dark Universe
The brand new experience will sit next to Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, the award-winning Dark Universe attraction. The new attraction will immerse guests in an original story built around the iconic Universal Monsters.
So far, Universal Orlando Resort hasn’t shared a name, ride details or an opening date, but we are excited to share all the details as they come available.
More New Experiences Coming to Universal Orlando Resort
Meanwhile, the Dark Universe coaster joins a lineup of new additions coming to the destination over the next year:

- Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift: A high-speed roller coaster opening in 2027 at Universal Studios Florida.
- New Jurassic Park restaurant: A new signature full-service restaurant in Jurassic Park at Universal Islands of Adventure, opening in 2027.
